2 Year Fixed Term role
The Head of Fundraising will be responsible for leading and managing a portfolio of work to fundraise from a wide-range of sources, but likely primarily focused on Alumni and local and regional business and stakeholder sponsors, initially leveraging the University’s Diamond Jubilee to do so. It is expected that fundraising and sponsorship will principally, but not exclusively, support funds for student welfare, access, success and progression. However, a key initial task for the Role will be to establish both the likely range of fundraising and sponsorship sources, and the likely range of activities for which fundraising and sponsorship will be attractive and successful, as part of the development of a fundraising strategy. You will initially report to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research & Enterprise), although direct line management will be re-allocated within the Directorate in early 2022.
You will be educated to degree level and have significant previous experience in a leadership role, and of working in the higher education sector. You will have a detailed understanding of the higher education context for fundraising, philanthropic giving and/or business and stakeholder sponsorship, and will have a proven track record of securing philanthropic gifts and business and stakeholder sponsorship as part of a significant institutional fundraising campaign.
Membership of the Institute of Fundraising would also be advantageous
