The Role
We are currently seeking an Opportunities and Events Manager to support the ambitions of the Students’ Union. The Opportunities and Events Manager has management responsibility for all active co-curricular engagement at Christ Church Students’ Union, including Sports Clubs, Societies, Student Fundraising, Student Media, Volunteering, and events. The post-holder will support and develop volunteer student leaders, and lead on the Union’s events programme, organising large scale events such as Freshers’ Fayre, Canterbury Varsity and student awards ceremonies.
The Person
The role holder will have substantial experience in a relevant role, a good understanding of key issues in Student Opportunities, and experience of managing staff and/or volunteers with the ability to empower and motivate. They will have experience of implementing health and safety regulations (such as conducting risk assessments), have excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organisational and planning skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, democratic organisation.
