Applications are invited for a coordinator to join the LASAR (Learning about Science and Religion) Research Centre. LASAR is a research and outreach enterprise that seeks to discover and extend students’ reasoning about ‘big questions’ that bridge science, religion and the wider humanities. Currently we leading a major national initiative, (see www.epistemicinsight.com )
Reporting to the Director of LASAR, the post holder will be responsible for developing, organising and promoting workshops, events, seminars and conferences for students of all ages. You will also be drawing on your understanding of teaching and education to recruit schools and help to create resources for use in school workshops and university seminars. You will have an interest in research and in the relationships between science and religion in education.
You will be a central part of a busy research team and you will have opportunities to develop your research skills ‘on the job’.
You will be supporting the development of research questions, instruments, conducting data gathering, coauthoring publications, creating and conducting workshops for tutors, student-teachers, school students and teachers – working on themes that are relevant to the project.

Requirements
Qualified to degree level or equivalent, you will have recent administrative experience and excellent IT skills. You will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and will be happy to work as a member of a team.
Although the role is based at the Canterbury campus, there may be a requirement for some national travel.
All applicants should be aware that successful applicant to the post will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.
