The University has a vacancy for a full time Senior Management Accountant. The Management Accounts team is responsible for the provision of a full range of management accounting services to Senior Management and budget holders within the University. In recent years, the University has and continues to experience a significant growth in turnover through the development of strategic partnerships, international activity and income diversification.
The Role
As a senior member of the Management Accounting team the post holder will be responsible for providing a professional management accounting service including direct support to the business planning and budget setting process, the production of monthly management accounts and completion of quarterly forecasts. The post holder will meet regularly with senior managers and budget holders to review monthly management accounts.
The role includes working in partnership with both HR Business Partners to ensure effective control over the staffing budget and the Planning & Business Intelligence team in the provision of student number information, as well as providing guidance and support for the junior members of the team.
The Person
A professional accountant, with experience of working as part of a large team within a busy environment, ideally with university or public sector experience. The successful candidate will hold a current CCAB qualification or be studying in the final stages. They will have excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills along with the ability to manage pressure and meet deadlines
Desirable requirements: Previous experience of Agresso Business World would also be advantageous.
