Background of department/role
The Faculty of Medicine, Health and Social Care, in partnership with Kent and Medway NHS Social Care Partnership Trust, is seeking to appoint a Clinical Academic Fellow in Learning Disability. This is a unique opportunity which will provide an ambitious healthcare professional with the opportunity to lead the development of networks and partnerships across health and social care education, service and research stakeholders within Kent and Medway. These will provide an effective context to grow the generalist and specialist learning disability workforce, and to improve the organisation and delivery of services through co-production.
The appointee will simultaneously provide learning and teaching support to health and care students in both practice settings and the University. The Fellow will be guided by a steering group which draws on service and policy partner interests. Day-to-day academic and professional supervision will be provided by Daniel Marsden, who is Senior Lecturer and Professional Lead for Learning Disabilities in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work.
